I heart Shanghai
It’s a beautiful city, definitely worth the visit. We were lucky enough to stay with our friends out of the hustle and bustle o the city. With nice wide roads, little electric scooter zooming around the city, crazy drivers that don’t stop at traffic lights.
The Elderly are active, still on their bikes. Like singapore, they also have outdoor exercise area for the elderly. Comparatively, must more spacious and quieter than Singapore.
People love dogs and have zero problems roaming the street in the pyjamas. *respect points*
Rich are very rich, and the poor…
First things first, of course, it’s the food. 🙂
Food culture is quite a big thing in China, on our first meal, we were taken to a fancy restaurant, in a private room setting with Kuang (our friend from Shanghai who lives in NZ)’s family and his extended family.
We didn’t know what to expect.
As we we entered the room, they clapped to welcome us. During the dinner, each ‘elder’ or ‘parents’ would give a toast, to the guest of honor. In this case, Kuang, Angela(his partner), Sam(my partner) and I. It was quite an interesting experience.
PS. They ordered quite a few dishes.. including Deep friend Snake!!!! It tasted like KFC but let fatty.
I’m glad we experience China the way we did, with our friend Kuang, their family were so kind and generous and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience… (More on this on a later post)
City hoping over 6 cities, 5 in different provinces in China in 2 weeks, covering from Chengdu, Jiu Zhai Gou, Xi’an, Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong. It was EPIC!
Here’s a little teaser of my trip! Hope you’ll like it!
PS. For those of you want to know a wee bit more about my itinerary, please see below. We went in October, the climate was just right. No too warm and not too cold. 🙂 We throughly enjoyed our experience in China, remember to keep in mind of the entrance fees whilst traveling in china, as it will add up!
